Tanzania Horticultural Association (TAHA) is an apex private sector member based organization mandated to develop and promote horticultural crops (flowers, fruits, vegetables, spices, herbs and horticultural seeds) in Tanzania. TAHA's goal is to improve the growth and competitiveness of horticultural industry in the country for social and economic gains, TAHA is a strong voicing platform, representing farmers at all levels, processors, exporters and service providers In the horticultural industry in Tanzania TAHA is looking for motivated and highly experienced individuals to fill the following positions:

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Develop and implement strategies tor sustainable market linkages.
  2. Promote and sensitize producers and other actors on the use of market information.
  3. Understand key market requirements in a bid to foster connection between production and markets.
  4. Create marketing opportunities and providing a range of marketing options for small-scale producers in Tanzania.
  5. Conduct assessment of farmers and SME's to identify their business capacity gaps and suggest the most economic and sustainable methods of addressing them.
  6. Develop simple agribusiness training modules for farmers and horticulture SME's.
  7. Facilitate market linkage trips/study tours for producers and traders.
  8. Develop a database of buyers/high volume consumers of horticulture produce and develop simple and sustainable market linkage models.
  9. Act as focal point for collecting market related information and disseminating it to farmers and SME's.
  10. Organize forums with potential buyers' associations and companies as well as fostering close relationship with them.
  11. Collaborating with the Policy Advocacy Department in identifying marketing challenges which are policy related and advice ways of addressing these challenges.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Marketing or any related field with a minimum of 3 years work experience.
